Course Description:

This session focuses on organization and time management for serving effectively as the Director of Nursing, with an emphasis on effective leadership, and staff engagement. There will be an overview of daily responsibilities and expectations, and an examination of successful strategies for delegation of nursing department duties that represent a day in the life of an effective DON.

Learning Objectives:

1. Review common day-to-day responsibilities of the DON

2. Describe processes for nursing systems oversight, and organization/time management.

3. Implement an effective strategic planning process for delegation of nursing department duties and staff engagement.
